The Gallery on Gladstone is an art gallery located on Gladstone Avenue in Victoria, BC, that has been in business for 6 years and employs 10 people. The owner is hugely inspired by Modernist art, such as the works of Matisse, Picasso and Georgia O’Keeffe.

The Gallery on Gladstone is to be an experience, not just a room in which to simply view art. Visitors enter through arched doors and are immediately greeted with a variety of art displays. The layout of the gallery is a clear pathway to follow; visitors will wind their way around walls and freestanding displays that are set up and angled in such a way that clearly marks the path of travel. Accessibility is granted through pathways wide enough for wheelchairs and walkers, and each display is equipped with a speaker to audibly describe the pieces to those who are visually impaired.

Amanda Cline is the founder and owner of the Gallery on Gladstone. She works and lives above the Gallery and devotes much of her time to scouting out new artists for the Gallery on her social media platforms. She loves attending art exhibitions to advertise her company and gain connections to other galleries across Canada and the US.

A traditional design style fills the space with ornate lines and wainscotting. The open floor plan allows its user to flow from kitchen to dining to living easily and is the perfect space for entertaining family and friends. A neutral colour scheme fills the apartment with a warm glow, while Classic-styled furniture is used in the living and dining spaces to emphasize the connection to the art gallery below. The area is filled with artwork, sculptures and greenery from the gallery and local shops around Victoria. Large open windows at the front of the apartment let in lots of natural daylight, and sheer window coverings add to the open-air feeling.
